Council of the EU Presidency as an Opportunity for Croatia’s Affirmation in the EU

Brussels, November 20th, 2019 – Economic aspects of Croatia’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU were in the focus of a function hosted by the Brussels’ Croatia-EU Business Council and Vlahovic Group. The function brought together representatives of major international companies, experts from the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Croatia to the EU, as well as other institutions involved in Croatia’s EU Presidency preparations.

Continuous Dialogue with a Network of Stakeholders Needed for Croatia’s Successful Council of the EU Presidency in 2020

Natko Vlahovic, CEUBC Director Appointed External Member to the Croatian Parliament European Affairs Committee

On Friday, 7 February 2013, the Croatian Parliament (Sabor) named Mr. Natko Vlahovic, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Croatia-EU Business Council (CEUBC), as one of six external (expert) members to the Sabor European Affairs Committee, chaired by Croatian MP Daniel Mondekar (SDP).  The Committee consists of 14 MPs and six external members.  Nominated by the CEUBC, Mr. Vlahovic will continue to promote CEUBC primary objective of building strategic partnerships between Croatia and the European Union (EU) with a focus on business development between Croatia, the EU, and EU member states. Given Mr. Vlahovic's extensive professional career in EU affairs and entrepreunerial experience, he will give a unique private sector perspective to the strategic work of the Sabor European Affairs Committee.

Internet Economy: Opportunity to Create New Jobs, Support Regional Entrepreneurs and Renew Economic Growth in Croatia

Zagreb, October 2, 2013 - On the eve of the EU Digital Council to be held in Brussels on 24 October, gathering all the EU member states’ Prime Ministers and Heads of State to discuss the digital economy, innovation, and services at the EU level, the Croatia EU Business Council (CEUBC) and Google organized a workshop in Zagreb to discuss the Internet economy opportunities in Croatia, the region, Europe and even at the possible future Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), between the EU and the US.  The workshop was held on 2 October at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Zagreb.

Who’s Who After 1 July 2013: What State-owned Companies in Croatia Should Know about the EU Accession

Zagreb, June 20, 2013 - After the relaunch of the Croatian EU Business Council (CEUBC) in Zagreb in April 2013, Natko Vlahovic, CEUBC Co-Founder and Executive Director, organised and moderated the first CEUBC event – a roundtable titled “Who’s Who After 1 July 2013: What State-owned Companies in Croatia Should Know about the EU Accession.” The roundtable guest presenters included: H.E. Paul Vandoren, EU Ambassador to Croatia, Ms. Olgica Spevec, Croatian Competition Agency Council President, Mr. Zvonimir Savic, Deputy Director of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce EU Centre, andMs. Maja Kust, Ministry of Economy for Public Procurement.  The roundtable discussion was held in the European Union Information Centre in Zagreb and attended by executives of state-owned companies in Croatia.  The roundtable was also attended by officials and ambassadors from the diplomatic corps in Croatia.  The discussion was organised as a working group meeting closed to the media, which led to a frank and construction dialogue.

Relaunching The Croatia EU Business Council

Zagreb, April 16, 2013 -  The Croatia EU Business Council (CEUBC) held its relaunch at the VERN University of Applied Sciences in Zagreb.  Mr. Natko Vlahovic, CEUBC co-founder, presented the Council to a select group of CEOs and diplomats, including the EU Ambassador to Croatia, H.E. Paul Vandoren.
